How can you protect a server against Nessus?

Two tricks are availble. But they are only able to slow down nessus - they can't prevent a eventual complete scan of every port. The two techniques are:

1. Adaptive Firewalls ([i21],[i22])
2. LaBrea Protected Hosts [B1 pp 115-6]
